Hot Rod was selected to add his suri influence at Star Llama Company as one of our 7 unrelated suri bloodlines. His Suri influence is from the Canaletto II line owned by the Steffels in Colorado which has had a good measure of success in the suri marketplace. Being Canaletto's 3rd son he is the first to have suri babies on the ground in the fall of 2008. We are waiting a bit for the excitement to calm us but both of his first multi-colored babies were spectacular and we have already chosen his second son as his replacement for the future. We anticipate more multi-colored suri offspring as we should from the depth of multiple colors in Hot Rod's genetic tree. One of his fall 2009 offspring is a stunning suri red and white male from the same mom that produced the LFA high seller at the 2009 Auction (Star Dynamica). This new male (also featured on this site) is available for sale and will make his mark in the llama circuit. He has been named Star Dynamic Design and is ready for a steady show handler until he matures and leaves his legacy by building his own family tree. Hot Rod is easy to work with and is a vigorous breeder. He is ready to go to work for you and will inject that new unrelated suri factor into your breeding program instantly. Hot Rod is full Chilean which adds another dimension of geographically isolated genetic influence on top of the suri type. |

| This is nice Kantu granddaughter that has produced well for us. her last cria was a cream colored female by MGF San Paolo born 10.8.09. Her suri daughter Star Birthright was a top seller at the 2009 LFA auction in Cedar Rapids IA. This is a good no trouble production female that is being rebred in the spring of 2010 to San Paolo and is currently field testing to refusal. Dam of Star Birthright and grand dam of Star Blue Ribbon that sold in the 2009 LFA. |
Nice black female with classic fiber but with suri genetics. The Sire, Mojo is a Secret Weapon son giving her 3 suri genetic generations. The Dam, Enchanter is the largest llama on the farm. She is an Escapada (E-Line) daughter and adds the large bone and frame structure to this big young girl. She was bred to Castlerock's Contraband on 11.9.09 for a fall 2010 cria. She is confirmed pregnant to Contraband and due @ 10.30.10. |

| Dark llamas are sometimes hard to judge at first glance without a close inspection. The dark coloration tends to not get quite as many looks as a cria matures because they are always framed with a dark background of the pasture or the dimly lit barn or a cloud filled day. Lighter llamas stand out visually more often just because darker muted backgrounds tend to display light fiber llamas with a more lively optical recognition. I make this observation because as Trophy grew it took some time during the winter to realize just how nice he was. I knew his mom had produced some stunning cria like Torrid Passion that Criven Llamas now own and Top Prodigy our entrant in the Hard Rock Gold Rush Sale in Ohio, not to mention our own Top Pick, a farm favorite. As spring arrived and we worked closer with the llamas he stood out on several levels. His frame is square which I would have expected and his fiber is a fine suri type but I am impressed by his fiber coverage and density. His sire, Chilean Hot Rod, is the only suri influence so this guy will be able to breed with some distance to all the major suri type lines currently in the U.S.. All the building blocks of structure, fiber type and useable genetic influence rolled into a great stud prospect that is sure to follow in his siblings footsteps. If you value diversity in your cria production and think that an unrelated suri male with proven siblings and good marketability factor can enhance your breeding program than this young diamond in the rough would be a good addition to your breeding program. |

Strength of suri definition on the sire side with 5 Keurred suri descendents going back to Maximo PC-1 the Peruvian National Black Champion before being imported from Peru. Silver Lining is a 4th generation suri just from the US pedigree. She will create 5th generation offspring entwined with suri fiber solidifying her chances to produce more suri type. Her full sister, Star Fawn Princess, sold at the 2008 LFA sale in Cedar Rapids IA. The dam, Silver Legacy, is a dilute Silver fine fibered Full Peruvian Female that has consistently produced excellent offspring for us. Silver Lining is very correct and will do well in the show ring. She is easy to work with and has a quiet personality. She is bred for a spring 2011 cria.
